WHAT IS THE HEADACHE DIARY?

WHAT IS THE HEADACHE DIARY?

The headache diary is a simple method of recording the patient's headaches in a way that the patient and the treating neurologist can track the course of the headaches, their frequency, intensity, response to medication, correlation with triggering factors. So many times the patient also becomes aware of new things about his headache that he would otherwise not be able to track (it is known that generally a patient cannot accurately remember his symptoms after 15 days, unless he writes them down somewhere).

WHAT DOES IT CONSIST OF;

The diary consists of several columns, such as: Date, time of headache onset, association with triggers, pain rating, if associated with menstruation, if the patient took medications and which medications, response to medications, etc.
The help for the treating neurologist is very great, because imagine that at a glance he can understand exactly what happened in relation to the patient's headache, e.g. the last semester.
