Because the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">percentage of the population over 65 years old in developed countries (such as Greece) <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is increasing, by 2050 people with dementia in these countries will triple! Approximately <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the 85% of dementia is Alzheimer&#039;s Disease.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The entry of Artificial Intelligence into our lives would not leave out the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">modern Medicine. Thus, the company LANGaware has developed Artificial Intelligence models <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Intelligence that utilizes more than 600 digital biomarkers to <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">help diagnose dementia even in very early stages, perhaps even before <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the clear appearance of symptoms. This is very important for the patient and for the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">neurologist because the earlier a therapeutic intervention is performed, the milder the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">picture of the disease, the slower its progression and the better its control.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thus, the diagnosis of dementia in very early stages (and beyond) is now based on 3 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">axles: <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the classic neurological examination and the patient&#039;s history that <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">are combined with some tests (MMSE, clock test, etc.) that the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">neurologist. The neurologist may need additional imaging tests\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(CT or MRI of the brain).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the online memory-description test that is performed while the patient is looking <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a computer screen on the neurologist&#039;s desk and he is talking to a <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">microphone. This innovative online test is evaluated by Artificial <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Intelligence (LANGaware company) and within a few minutes - and while the patient is <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">still in the clinic - an e-mail is sent with the results. The analysis has to <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">has to do with the patient&#039;s verbal flow, vocabulary and variety of words, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the syntactic complexity and sound characteristics of his speech <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">patient.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In blood tests such as the biomarker p-Tau217 which increases <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">even in the early stages of Alzheimer&#039;s Disease, but also molecular testing <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">for the ApoE alleles (E2, E3, E4) - the E4 allele is the one that increases the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">risk of the Disease. Blood tests may not be necessary (or <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">at least both) if the neurologist is certain of the diagnosis, but if <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If the patient or relatives wish, these can also be done immediately after the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">end of the examination.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So the examinee will have received in a diagnostic visit - lasting half an hour <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">hour- 2 to 3 medical services that will or will not diagnose dementia.
